Welcome to the Sunrise Side. This freshly updated single-level cottage sits on a quiet, wooded lot minutes from downtown East Tawas, the sandy Lake Huron beaches, and public access to Tawas Lake about a quarter mile away.

Inside you'll find a bright open kitchen with a butcher-block island, three comfortable bedrooms, brand-new windows, and a layout built for slow mornings and rainy-day card games. Sip coffee on the covered front porch in the Adirondack chairs, then spend the evening around the private backyard fire pit.

Whether you're here for the beach, the fishing, the fall color, or just to slow down Up North, this is your home base. The whole house and yard are yours, with self check-in by keypad so you can come and go on your own schedule.

House rules

  • No smoking anywhere on the property.
  • Up to six overnight guests. No parties or events.
  • Quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. It's a quiet residential street.
  • Dogs are welcome. Please clean up after them.
  • Park in the driveway (two spaces). The detached garage is owner storage and stays locked.
  • One exterior security camera on the front porch faces the driveway. There are no cameras inside.
  • The one locked closet holds cleaning supplies and spare linens.

Check in any time after 4:00 pm. Check out by 10:00 am.

Cancellation and payment

Cancel 14 or more days before check-in for a full refund. Cancel 7 to 13 days before for a 50% refund. Within 7 days of check-in, the stay is non-refundable. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within a week.

There's no damage deposit. Please treat the place like your own, and tell me about anything that breaks so I can fix it before the next guest.

Cancel 14 or more days before check-in for a full refund. Cancel 7 to 13 days before for a 50% refund. Within 7 days of check-in the stay is non-refundable.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Just mention it in the note when you book so I can leave a couple of towels out.

Is there air conditioning?

Central heat for the cold months, and portable A/C units plus fans for the handful of hot weeks each summer. Lake breezes do most of the work.

How does the calendar stay accurate?

It syncs with the Airbnb and VRBO calendars every few minutes, so if a date shows open here, it's open.

Do you charge tax?

Michigan's 6% use tax on short stays is added at checkout, the same as on any platform.
